Exercise

I'm pathetic.

I am SO pathetic.

I decided to get some exercise today. Actually, I decide that EVERY day, but it seldom happens. But today...today it did. I went to the pool.

It's not a very large pool. I didn't manage to do much swimming before I was beat. So I rested a bit, and swam again. I'm pathetic. I think I managed a grand total of three laps. In a small pool.

However, Susan and I were talking today and I decided that I'll check out Curves. Susan really likes it, but with only herself to worry about getting there, she's not as dedicated as she'd like to be. If I'm going to, and we go together, then we can encourage each other. She'll get healthier and I'll get healthier and everyone will be happy!

I need to be reminded of this when I'm getting up at too early in the morning to go. Although, when I think about it...I'll actually not be getting up any earlier than I usually do (when I was driving myself to work, that is....).

Having that committment really helps; there were days I wouldn't want to work out, except that my personal trainer was expecting me. :) Just having that committment, to anyone, helps you get in the good habits. Good for you for giving it a go today - you have to start somewhere! :) :: hugs :: I believe in you!

You aren't that pathetic. Pathetic is walking into work tomorrow, knowing that I will fail when I step on the scales. And it won't even be close.

But partners make it much easier. I worked out twice a week before I hurt my knee and couldn't be with the group. Being by myself in the gym just isn't the same.

Personally I am all about scheduled classes. As long as I'm scheduled for my pilates class, and I know I'm "supposed" to be there, I am.

Between quarters, with no schedule, I never exercise...

I have a similar resolve about exercise... deciding to do it, then not actually following through. Now that I'm working again, though, I do plan to get fit. There's a park district rec-plex close to my house, so I'll see what they've got. :)

I do envy you having even a small pool, though. :P

Anna--This sounds like a great idea! I'm glad to see you went for it. :)

PS: Um, Aerden's bugging me. *looks sheepish* What do I need to do to officially get him into Sable?
