Integrity

Does it mean anything to anyone these days? Or is it just a word and if you use it you get odd looks?

Does honesty mean anything? Does sincerity? Can people THINK beyond the obvious and see the intent? Can they get past their own pissiness and disagreement with a statement to see that the one they've disagreed with honestly believes what they've said?


So. Some things may change for me in the next few days. I accept that, and I accept the consequences of the decisions I've made, the actions I have or have not taken. Whatever happens, I'm determined to be this: true to myself. Above all, I will retain my own respect for myself, my own sense of integrity. What I may lose is nothing in comparison to betraying those and if this makes me sound dramatic and odd and silly, I don't care. These values are important to me, and I will stand by them.

And no, there is no grim and dire emergency or situation. Nothing imminent that's any great cause of concern for anyone but me. What's a live journal for, however, if not to vent and meander in thought? :)
