May. 21st, 2006 02:08 pmHowever you spell it or say it, I have succeeded! An old family recipe will not die out. For I have followed it and produced this favorite dish of the Middle East, this completely Syrian dish (except for using ground beef instead of lamb) and it be good!
It's kinda like meatloaf with pine nuts and cumin... I think a cucumber mint sauce would compliment it well, or that tamarind sauce that I remember from Shalimar....
